I got to observe something really interesting last night. I am busily in the process of creating new artwork for this summer’s Art-A-Fair Festival. As usual, my main theme is music. My boyfriend and I were talking about some ideas for the new pieces. He suggested doing music notes in different colors in a series, maybe even a rainbow of colors. That started my creative juices flowing. I immediately came up with a title for the piece: Harmony.

Friday night I was watching a marketing webinar on how to publish and market books. I already knew most of what they were saying, so I was only half listening in case something interesting came up. While I was listening, my brain was working. All of a sudden something triggered a plethora of ideas. I started madly writing things down so I wouldn’t lose them.
I had a wonderful experience a couple of days ago. I was interviewed by fellow artist Nancy Roux for the Art-A-Fair Festival Facebook page. Now, usually, I am on the other side of the table asking the questions. In fact, you can see me interviewing Nancy on the video page. So, this was a shift from my normal function as interviewer.
It was a very different perspective. I was at the Art-A-Fair Festival late last night doing my usual Monday night wandering of the aisles. A woman was walking toward me. She kept looking at me as if she knew me. After a bit of interrogation, my brain yielded forth many pleasant memories from childhood. It turned out she was my 7th grade math teacher.
Just a quick update because I really like this photo. Last night was the Art-A-Fair Festival's Premier Opening Night. I got all dressed up, served some yummy desserts, talked to lots of interesting people, and had lots of fun. Today I am recuperating. (Oh, yeah, and I sold a few things, too!)
The Art-A-Fair Festival in Laguna Beach, CA will soon be starting. I am busily getting my booth ready for this 2-month long art show. My car is packed with as much as a Toyota Corolla can carry. Tomorrow we start hanging artwork on the walls. Wednesday is our Opening Night.
So, I won't be posting much for the next few days. Wish me luck! |
